Emerging Equity, Commodity Fund Inflows Surge on Weaker Dollar

(Bloomberg) -- Emerging-market equity and commodity fund inflows surged last week as investors sought protection from a weaker dollar, EPFR Global said. Emerging equity funds lured 49 percent of the $5.98 billion invested in all stock funds in the week ended Nov. 18, bringing this year’s developing-nation total to $56.8 billion, said EPFR, which tracks funds holding $10 trillion worldwide. Commodity sector funds took $1.34 billion, the most in 3 1/2 years, driving the year-to-date total above $13 billion.
