Treasury 30-Year Yield May Rise to 4.76%: Technical Analysis

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. 30-year bond yields may rise to 4.76 percent, matching the highest close this year set in June, National Australia Bank in Sydney said, citing trading patterns. Thirty-year yields were little changed at 4.41 percent today as of 1:18 p.m. in Tokyo. The U.S. is scheduled to sell a record $16 billion of the securities tomorrow.Using a yield chart, Gordon Manning, National Australia’s technical analyst, drew a descending line connecting the highs of June and August and extrapolated it out to today. The line comes to 4.35 percent for today, below the current level.
