Consumer confidence is back to its highest level since January 2008, according to the University of Michigan survey. Friday's report would seem to confirm what the stock market is saying and what the Federal Reserve declared last week: "economic activity has picked up following its severe downturn." But do most Americans really think the economy is on the mend?
